Darrens Training log | |
Good evening everyone, My name is Darren and I play local league for Selmeston and Alciston CC in east sussex, I have played county Premier league for a number of years but with a young son (2yrs) and a busy work life (Teacher) it has been difficult to keep up performance. I enjoy the social side of the cricket and had a very good season last year scoring over 500 runs at an average of 57 and taking 19 wickets at an average of around 16. I open the batting and bowl off spin. This training log is for me to keep a log of my work and hopefully have an even better season this year??? I look forward to reading your logs and listeniing to any helpful hints you might have for me.... Training starts tuesday??? |

Darren thanks for your tip re humming in between deliveries..i will give it a go.
Re losing weight see above link.It requires not a lot of time but can have the desired effect. I am a teacher with a family also so appreciate the time constraints you are operating under.
Let me know your feedback on the interval training.

Hi Darren
Great goals!
How have you found dropping down a few leagues? Bet you don't miss the early starts but is it not difficult to step down into a local league having played premier league for so long? Or is the standard still pretty good?
best of luck with your training

Missed the gym this evening as did not sleep well last night but have eaten pretty healthy all day... and will be hitting the gym hard on Wednesday...
Food - Ham salad sandwich (granary bread)
Home made burgers (healthy version)
Soup, and plenty of water.

Hey Darren
Sounds like you have different priorities but also getting a challenge so you have the best of both worlds. Always good when that happens!
Hope it continues.

Well good evening everybody....
I'm now back at work and settled into a new job which means that my training can start for real.... need to lose some weight for the new season so am hitting the cardio work pretty hard with some basic core exercise for a little bit of strength.
Nets start next week!!! so will be looking st getting my eye in... our first choice spinner has left the club and as i bowl part time spin i know the ball will be thrown my way more often this year... any hints for improving my off spin bowling will be graefully accepted.
Darren,hows the training going?
Nets going well?
